Architectural Design Civic
Metro tech 1-small

Now in the design phase, Cavin Design Group is working with Quinn and Associates to renovate and expand the current MetroTech Adult and Continuing Education Campus. This project encompasses renovation of 48,000 square feet of existing space and expand an additional 30,000 square feet. The concept program is a course based community college model that incorporates traditional high school, technology training and entrepreneurship. Classrooms are shared, flexible spaces arranged in clusters. Courses are interdisciplinary, team taught and technology driven. The facility will include a “wellness arcade”, tiered lecture hall for 120 and an academic center. The instructional food service area will be visible from the 120 seat, fashionable restaurant. The small business incubator program will interact with the Capital Chamber of Commerce and other community based services located in the building. The Mary Mahoney Memorial Health Center will house a clinic to provide real life training for the medical curriculum. This project will be LEED certified and maximizing credits in spite of a constricted site. LEED applications include the design of a green roof which will provide recreational as well as environmental benefits. Additional applications will be applied throughout the design of the building. * A venture project with Quinn & Associates
