In addition to designing the architectural structure of The First National Bank and Trust Company, Cavin Design Group collaborated with local vendors and the bank public relations director to provide an interior design scheme. Working as a team, CDG evaulated and accessed the owner and the staff’s ideas and necessities. The solution that developed was a concept that revolved around the rustic appeal of southwest Oklahoma, a special interest of the owner. Other issues involving the staff included adequate office space, a waiting area, a conference room and a break room.

CDG began with designing a space plan that incorporated forty-five degree rotated squares shaping the spatial layout, direction of circulation, furniture choice and arrangement, and the special design of the granite reception counter. All necessary rooms were applied to the floor plan to accompany the square pattern and form a more logical and efficient path for traffic. Furniture selection included rustic leather sofas, large comfy chairs upholstered in leafy fabric, and western inspired side tables carved in elaborate detail. As a point of interest, an eye catching antler chandelier was used as a focal point upon entering the facility. Paints, finishes, and lighting complement the furniture selection and create an environment that is cohesive and engaging.

With the overall design, the owner and staff are pleased with the practical layout and warm color palette used throughout the bank. This facility provides all the amenities the owner and staff expect and want. The The First National Bank and Trust Company now offers an interior space and setting that is not only representative of southwest Oklahoma’s natural landscape, but also its charm.
