Architectural Design Civic

The Kiowa County Health Department was seeking a facility that projected a professional appearance while offering a hospitable environment for staff and patients. The building needed to provide adequate space for the various required rooms and amenities. Cavin Design Group designed a plan that incorporated a practical layout, low maintenance architecture, and highly efficient circulation.

CDG began with a geometric concept that was implemented throughout the design of the facility. It is featured at the main entrance and exhibits a unique introduction into the lobby. The clean angled lines corresponded smoothly with the selection of lighting which enhanced the details of the structure, surrounding landscape, and interior spaces. To ensure that all the client’s needs were met, CDG located areas for administration, offices, and exam rooms. Issues on convenience and sanitation allowed for a restroom and laboratory to support the exam rooms. The floor plan also included a conference room with a private outdoor entrance to alleviate disturbance. Accommodating the staff, the conference room, kitchen, and restrooms were designed to be adjacent to the foyer for after hour’s accessibility. To utilize the full potential of the building, CDG stationed 1,000 square feet of storage on the second floor.

The new design for Kiowa County Health Department was considerate of the staff’s daily habits and requirements. It offered an appealing environment that was inviting and architecturally interesting. The client and staff were please with the results and have used CDG’s exterior design as a model for other similar projects.
