The First National Bank and Trust Company, Lawton Branch, selected Cavin Design Group to design a new facility that catered to the specific needs of the owner and staff. The owner had requested to implement the unique characteristics of the southwest Oklahoma and apply it to design of the building. Because this would become the bank’s ‘flagship’ location, CDG focused on a concept that would integrate the flavors of rustic Oklahoma with the nuances of contemporary design.
The bank’s structure consists of local materials from southwest Oklahoma, such as brick and granite, and features a twenty-five foot high pyramid that is accented with skylights introducing an abundance of natural light. Due to the impressive height of the ceiling, the interior space presents a visual grand scale of the facility and provides a boundless open space. Other features include the spatial design of the bank which offers a waiting area, additional office space, and a break room overlooking an enclosed garden featuring water elements.
Cavin Design Group provided services that met the owner’s expectations and fulfilled the staff’s essential needs for a productive workplace. With the new building, The First National Bank and Trust Company is now able to offer an atmosphere that is functional, aesthetically inspiring, and welcoming to new and current clients.
