FIRST BANK AND TRUST COMPANY - PLATO ROAD BRANCH
A
branch for First Bank & Trust Company in Duncan sought an exterior modification
that would display creative visual appeal and be budget conscience. Since it
was located in an existing building, it lacked a defined entry, inadequate location
for signage, and a nonexistent drive-in service. Cavin Design Group focused
on designing a more distinguished entry that incorporated all the client’s
issues in a compact addition and highlighted the materials in the existing building.
To construct a more dramatic facade, CDG designed a new drive-in that is adjacent
to the main entry and made visible from the street. On a section of brick fascia,
the bank’s name and logo is supported by stepped brick buttresses, accented
with reflective glass cubes. This creative, reflective detail has become a beacon
for the bank’s location by creating glistening images of the sun and sky
throughout the day.
Prior to the renovation, the bank’s original street signage consisted of only a pole supporting a backlit sign. To draw more attention, a newly improved signage was added at the most prominent intersection in the area. This structure mimics the design and materials used at the bank’s new drive in entry. This complementary structure provides dominant signage that segues into the direction of the First Bank & Trust Company location.
