MCCURTAIN COUNTY NATIONAL BANK IDABELL BRANCH
The
renovation of McCurtain County National Bank in Idabel transformed a dreary
dated building into a cornucopia of contemporary, western influenced, design
and detail. The facility had originally featured a dark color scheme revealed
on the exterior facades and interior space. Cavin Design Group provided a solution
that dramatically enhanced the building through a combination of new materials
and creative design that would appeal to visitors and staff.
Prior to renovations, the facility’s rustic design included stone, gabled
roof with wood trusses, a ceiling deck, and a modest entry with tinted glass.
For a bolder approach, CDG modified the facades with scored E.I.F.S., new stone,
green aluminum framed windows with green glass, a metal roof, and a metal cap
flashing to outline the new shape of the facility. To stay within budget, the
building was given an illusion of additional height by building E.I.F.S. upward
to conceal the existing gabled roof. The new elevation allowed CDG to build
a more distinguished and grandiose entry to complement the surrounding height
and flow of the new design.
In the interior space, CDG altered the materials to correspond with the contemporary
concept of the exterior. Flooring was replaced with earth toned porcelain slate
tile which harmonized with the selection of new paints and copper metallic accents.
The overall furnishings were a mix of traditional and contemporary decor. They
introduce textured fabrics such as stitched and woven leather and fur, offering
visitors chic style with comfort. Overall, the interior renovations were a finishing
touch to the revamped exterior design of the bank.
